Company History
Over a decade of building the stack.
PowerStack Microgrids built the full stack one capability at a time. Founded in 2014 as Gould Group, the company brought development, engineering, procurement, construction, and long-term operations under one platform over eleven years. In 2025, it unified those capabilities under the PowerStack brand.
Chapter 1
2012 | Gould Group is founded
Gould Group is founded in Columbus, Ohio. The initial focus is solar, LED lighting, variable frequency controls, and power factor program projects delivered nationwide to commercial and industrial customers. The strategy from day one: bring energy expertise to real estate and industrial operators rather than sell equipment through channels.
The first year sets the pattern that defines the company. Multi-site portfolio work. Single-point accountability. A preference for building capability in-house rather than assembling it from vendors on every project.
Chapter 2
2016 | Construction and supply chain come in-house
Two structural bets. Gould Group brings construction in-house through CEG Worldwide and supply chain in-house through E2 Distribution. Both moves reflect the same conviction: energy infrastructure delivery requires single-point accountability, and the market does not reward companies that hand off between vendors on every stage of a project.
The company now originates, designs, permits, procures, and builds under one roof. The full stack is not yet named. It is how the work gets done.
Chapter 3
2022 | Built for the Moment Before the Moment
For six years, Gould Group had operated a model the industry had not yet asked for: integrated development, supply, and construction under one accountable team. The 2022 Inflation Reduction Act reshapes the economics of distributed energy, and demand for solar and storage across the commercial and industrial market accelerates.
The companies positioned to capture that growth are the ones already running the model. Gould Group is one of them. The market conditions catch up to the operating discipline the company had already built.

2025 | Unification as PowerStack Microgrids
The company unifies its operating entities under a single brand: PowerStack Microgrids. The full stack, built one capability at a time over eleven years, is now under one name. The unification is not a rebrand exercise. It is the recognition that the market for full-stack microgrid delivery is real, and the company already has the capabilities to serve it.

TODAY | The Full-Stack Microgrid Company
PowerStack Microgrids operates as a full-service microgrid development company delivering technology-agnostic solutions from feasibility through commissioning. The company works with Fortune 100 customers across cold storage, logistics, manufacturing, and data infrastructure markets.
The company that started in 2012 as a solar and lighting contractor is now the integrated platform for onsite power infrastructure in an industrial economy that has run out of grid capacity.
